Taylor Swift Side Bun Prom Updo – How to do a side bun

The Taylor Swift side bun is an easy way to keep your hair off your shoulders, with being able to look trendy. This is my favorite style because it is so versatile. I have worn this for a fancy party and for college t-shirt day.

For this look you will need:

Bobby pins
(1) Small elastic stretchy rubber band
Hairspray
teasing comb
Curing iron (if you have naturally straight hair)
Flower (optional)

Here are 5 easy steps to show you how to do a side bun (in the picture it is straight but its so pretty curly too)

Step 1:
Take a section of hair starting about where your bangs end and tease. How to tease: Hold hair in left hand and using the comb (in right hand) pull the brush down . Repeat on section until full. The tease two more sections. (You can tease sides of hair for a fuller look)

Step 2:
Bunch your hair up to the side (back) of head. Then take your small rubber band and wrap it  around the hair a few times. Then pull the bun apart so it is not so tight.

Step 3: Using bobby pins, pin hair in place going around the bun.

Step 4: Curl bangs to your liking. Optional: you can pin bangs back by taking the top layer of bangs and pin that up. Then take the second layer, put over first bobby pin (so it will not be seen) and pin. Repeat for last layer.

Step 5: Put in flower.

You are finished! A cute up-do that is simple and easy to do.
